José and Joe have been Neighbors for years, but they’ve never been “neighborly.” When José asks Joe for help, the two men forge a friendship and business partnership on a handshake; but when the past resurfaces, all deals are off.

BERNARDO CUBRÍA
I was born in Mexico City and grew up in Houston, Texas. Thankfully, my amazing mother (w/the eighties hairdo left) never allowed us to speak English at home; so I am fully bilingual and bicultural. Lucky to call those two guys brothers and the guy getting poked in the eye, dad.
I lived in New York City for 8 years where I got to work at The Public Theater, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, INTAR, La MAMA and The Mint. I also appeared on Blue Bloods, The Good Wife and many independent movies. Plus I do commercials in both Ingles and Spanish!
As a playwright; my play The Redhead is Coming was a part of F*ckfest at The Brick in New York (2015). My play The Judgment of Fools is enjoying an open ended run currently at INTAR. My short plays have been done all over the country.
My Podcast "Off and On: A New York Theatre Podcast" was named the top Theatre Podcast by American Theatre Magazine!

PHILIP HAYS
I had my first taste of the stage in a first-grade animal pageant, in which I played a Mole, and discovered that a pratfall would get a reaction from the crowd.
When I got a bit older, I earned a B.A. in Theatre at the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, with an emphasis on Acting/Directing. After that, I went on to study commedia dell’arte with Antonio Fava at the Scuola Internazionale dell’Attore Comico (International School of Comic Acting). I briefly stuck around Italy to join the educational Shakespeare troupe Teatro delle Due.
Armed with the arcane knowledge of his comic forbears and a international professional success with the classics, I returned to Houston, where I made his way as an actor, director and educator (along with odd-job stints as a video editor and an aerial photographer).
In Houston, I have appeared in over 30 productions with Horse Head Theatre Co., Classical Theatre Company Main Street Theater, Main Street Theater for Youth, among others.
I am a company member of Horse Head Theatre Co. (Winner, Houston Press MASTERMIND Award 2015), for which I co-developed and performed in The Whale; or, Moby-Dick (Winner, Best New Play, Houston Press Theatre Awards 2015).
I’m a company member of the Classical Theatre Company as well, for whom I have directed acclaimed adaptations of The Birds, Ubu Roi, Doctor Faustus, and A Christmas Carol.
I have mentored and directed student productions at HSPVA, Houston’s arts high school; and has shared his insight on commedia dell’arte in student workshops there, along with other schools in Texas and the Czech Republic.
In 2013, Philip became an Artistic Associate with the Prague Shakespeare Company, with whom he has performed in a dozen productions, and directed two: an original commedia dell’arte-inspired adaptation of The Duchess of Malfiand the original play The Murder of Gonzago, a comic reimagining of Hamlet. Both premiered at the Prague Fringe in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
