THE WHALE; OR, MOBY-DICK
By Timothy N. Evers, Philip Hays and Herman Melville
Developed and Directed by Jacey Little
July - August 2015 World Premiere @ Buffalo Bayou Partnership East End Silos
"There she blows! - there she blows! A hump like a snow-hill! It is Moby-Dick!"
IMAGINE: A GREAT white "whale" on the banks of Buffalo Bayou...

Horse Head is at it again! We’ve got a crazy awesome project in the works — a “whale” of a tale — something that only HH has the “dick” to do.
HH will construct a GIANT white dome on the banks of Buffalo Bayou -- minutes away from Minute Maid Stadium and the original Ninfa's. This dome is our "Whale; or, Moby-Dick."
This dome is Moby-Dick's stomach.
Ol' Big-Dick has a penchant for whale tales -- and over the years, he's swallowed a life-sized dollhouse of Melville's tale. Only, Moby is missing the two most important pieces: a storyteller and an audience. That's where YOU come in.

Philip, a hapless actor, has been swallowed by a whale. To forestall his impending digestion, he entertains the monster with a quick, dirty and spectacular retelling of the sea beast’s favorite whale tale. Will he make it through all 135 chapters of Melville’s tome? Or does ol’ Big-Dick have a different ending in mind?
This new work invites YOU to enter the belly of the beast: Moby-Dick. Get swallowed! The play is performed inside a GIANT white dome on the banks of Buffalo Bayou -- minutes away from Minute Maid Stadium and the original Ninfa's. This dome is our "Whale; or, Moby-Dick." This project was made possible in part by Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Geo Event Systems, Buffalo Bayou Brewery (BuffBrew), and was funded in part by Houston Arts Alliance on behalf of City of Houston.
How will we create the innards of a whale, you say?
